Three safeguards prevent accidental triggering but not the intuitive use by unskilled helpers.

EPIPEN was originally developed as an injection unit for military applications. The new design makes it usable for the civilian sector. The EpiPen has to be carried along at all times. A New formal language was important so the users are not stigmatized and the device clearly differentiates from other injections, without having to be inconspicuous.

The ergonomic shape minimizes the risk of a false application. The risk of misapplication is reduced by the unique design. Three safeguards prevent accidental triggering but not the intuitive use by unskilled helpers.

The drug unit can be replaced.
